Here are some of the most common question and answers. If you have a question not listed here or need clarification on anything, feel free to ask via DM (Instagram), text, phone call, email or via our contact form.
Q: How do I book a shoot?
A: You can contact me via DM (Instagram), text, phone call, email or via our contact form and let's set it up. We'll talk about what you want and, pick a time and place, and get going as soon as possible.
Q: Is there an age requirement?
A: Yes. This is an age limit because you will be required to sign at least one legal document (a release form) and to do so you must be of legal age of 18+. A release form is basically you giving me permission to use your likeness (face) for reasons like displaying, publishing and promoting both your and my work. All good things. To keep things simple, if you are under the age of 18 and you have not been legally emancipated (proof required), you're just going to have to wait.
Q: Do I need to have any experience?
A: Of course not! I have worked with scores of first-timers and I'll guide you through the whole process. I work with first timers and seasoned professional models. You may or may not see yourself as a model, but as soon as you step in front of a camera, you are the subject of the image being captured and therefore are now a model. Easy as that!
Q: I am interested in becoming a model. Can you help me?
A: Yes absolutely! I'm your guy! I have helped many new models and first-timers to get going and attain success. Check out this page for more information on what to do and how to stay safe.
Q: I'm not a model or I don't see myself as one. Do I need to be?
A: You don't have to be a model! It may seem like it though because the pictures are fantastic and much of what I do is with and for models...and much isn't. That said, I do lots of shoots with girls that have no intentions of ever becoming a model. I take the girl nextdoor and do something special!
Q: What do I wear?
A: Wear whatever makes you feel confident and hot! Basically, your favorite stuff. I want to capture your style true to you - what makes you YOU! You can wear anything you want and even change into something else. Bring as many outfits as you like but we may not get to all of them. It's better to bring too much stuff.
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: Bring whatever outfits and accessories you would like to wear and maybe some props, for example: umbrella, violin, sword, or whatever. I often bring fun props that really help get the shots you'll love!
Q: What should I expect?
A: You can expect to have a fun time, a little adventure, and to be complete safe. All of those are a big thing with me! It will a low stress and comfy environment and you will always be treated with respect. You will be guided through the whole process and instructed how to pose if you need. We will take frequent breaks to review the shots and talk about what to do next - your creative input is always welcome. There is a good chance that you may get published in a magazine too! This is typically how it goes: We plan a session, do the shoot, review the results, get all excited, plan another session.
Q: Can I bring a friend?
A: Sure! Girls sometimes bring their BFF, BF, or even mom or dad. They can even be in some of the shots! It happens fairly often and it's perfectly okay. Whatever helps you feel more comfy.
Q: How do I select and receive the photos?
A: I will put everything on a Google Drive for you (most photographers don't share ALL the pics) so I'll need your G-Mail address. You can then select a dozen or so pics for me to check/edit (give me the numbers, not the actual pictures, just the numbers). I will also choose a few and you can approve or reject. Those will be what we post and/or publish. This approach has several benefits. First of all, you get everything. Secondly, you may see different things than I do...the look on your face or whatever. Additionally, you can review everything and see what works and what doesn't as far as posing, facial expressions, etc. To sum it up: Nobody will see anything you don't approve of.
Q: Who will see the pics?
A: Just you and me (unless you say it's OK to share). If you're not thrilled with the results, no one else will ever see them. That said, I'm sure you'll be posting them all over the place! You'll want everyone to see!
Q: Can I do a private session?
A: Yes. If you want pictures as a gift for someone special or for any other reason, we can do a private session and everything will be kept 100% private and confidential.
Q: I'm concerned about privacy and confidentiality. Can you tell me more?
A: I am very concerned about privacy as well. Nothing will be revealed or released (pictures, information, or anything) without your permission. You will be required to sign a release form except in very specific circumstances. You can read our privacy policy here.
Q: I don't feel confident but I really want to give this a try. Do I need to have a certain look or body type?
A: Your confidence will grow in minutes as I guide you along and you see how laid back a session really is. There are no requirements, standards, or types. All are welcome and encouraged! Your look is all yours and totally unique. It is those unique things that make us all beautiful!
Q: I'm a little nervous or apprehensive. Is that normal?
A: That's fairly common. It can seem like a really big deal the first time. Many are eager to jump right in while a few are not as comfortable embracing new experiences. It's really not a high stress, big production thing - I work alone. There is no pressure to do anything and you can be done at any time. Just look at it as taking some pictures, not a "photo shoot". You can read what others say and be confident that you're session will leave you feeling the same way.
Q: Do you have any information to help me be more prepared?
A: Of course. There are lots of articles in my blog and more can be found here. You can also ask me anything via DM (Instagram) text, phone call, email or via our contact form.
Q: Is there anything else I need to know?
A: Rest assured you are in good hands. I have been a photographer for many years and have done hundreds of shoots with scores of models and many, many first-timers.
Q: I still have questions. Can I get more info?
A: Sure, you can always get a hold of me via DM (Instagram) text, phone call, email or via our contact form.
